IGP orders full-blown investigations into death of two police officers

Ghana’s acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has asked for full investigations in the death of two police officers in the Ashanti and Eastern regions respectively.

The two officers were killed at Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region and Akyem Swedru in the Eastern Region between 6:00 pm of Monday 19 August 2019 and 6:00 am of Tuesday 20th August 2019.

The IGP in a statement issued by the Ghana Police’s Director Public Affairs Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman on Tuesday directed “specialised teams of investigators and operations from the National Headquarters to support the Regional Commands to investigate the two cases speedily and beef up security.”
