John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to work tirelessly to improve the lives of Ghanaians if elected President in the 2024 general elections.
In a Facebook post on Saturday (28 September), following his campaign visits to Ablekuma North, Central, West, and South constituencies on September 27, Mahama emphasized his commitment to the people.
“I made two solemn pledges to the people: First, as President, I will work 24/7 for you. This is not just a promise but a commitment I take to heart. Your aspirations, needs, and concerns you shared during my interactions will guide my actions, and I will be there for you, always,” the former President stated.
Additionally, he pledged to uphold transparency, asserting, “Secondly, I will always tell you the truth. Transparency will be my guiding principle in good times and challenging times. When things go well, I will celebrate with you. And when we face difficulties, I will be honest about the situation.”
Mahama also reiterated his plan to implement a 24-hour economy policy aimed at creating jobs, boosting economic growth, and addressing the rising costs of essential commodities, including food, fuel, and other daily necessities.
Mr Mahama is eighth on the ballot. He faces Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and leader of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
