President-elect John Dramani Mahama has announced his intention to dedicate himself to full-time farming after retiring from politics.
Mahama, who has always shown a strong interest in agriculture, disclosed his plans during a visit to his farms in Yapei and Busunu over the weekend. Speaking about his passion for farming, he emphasized his deep connection to the land and his desire to embrace it fully once his political journey concludes.
“Farming is my life. I love it,” Mahama remarked. “I am sure if I didn’t go into politics, I would be a full-time farmer. In any case, when I retire after this stint, of course, I am going to go into full-time farming.”
The President-elect expressed his commitment to agriculture, sharing that it has always been a significant part of his identity. He added humorously, “If you want to see me, you will have to come here onto the farm.”
Mahama’s statements underscore his readiness to return to his roots and focus on his passion for farming once his political career comes to an end.
