Former Ghana Captain and Former head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kwablah Akunnor has made his intention clear and known to the management of the Kumasi based club concerning the new role assigned to him by the club.
According to the spokesperson of the porcupines, Akunnor has submitted a letter to the club’s hierarchy by stating his unwillingness to take the technical director role of the club after his dismissal as head coach.
“It is true that we have been served a letter written by our former employee, Akunnor and it is also true that he has declined the promotion given to him by the club officials”, Sarfo Duku told Dailymailgh.com.
“We as management of the club are yet to meet and take a decision concerning the decision taken by our former head coach and we assure our supporters to keep calm about the situation because we are going to meet and decide what to do next”, Duku exclusively revealed to Dailymailgh.com.
“Our focus is on how to build a solid team to compete favourably in the CAF Champions League and will deal with this issue swiftly so it doesn’t affect our preparation for Africa”, said Duku.
Duku also added that the club is done with player purchases for now but cannot entirely rule out further signings in future if the need be.
“The club officials are very excited about what it has achieved so far in the transfer market because we’ve added enough quality players to our existing squad and will do anything within our power to make this our great club rise on the African continent again”, He ended.
