Ex-Ghana Black Stars coach Claud Le Roy has condemned the nature of football pitches in Ghana, describing it as the worst in Africa.

The 2008 Ghana coach did not mince words when he was speaking about the football fields in the country especially the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Nation’s capital.

According to him, the worst thing at the Accra Sports Stadium is not the substandard VIP section but rather the POTATO pitch professional football is played on.

“The first thing [at the stadium] is not the quality of the armchair in the VIP room, but the quality of the pitch.”

“In more than 20 years in Africa, it’s the worst pitch I’ve ever seen”-Claude Le Roy on Accra Stadium pitch.

Ghana, in recent years have struggled to meet CAF’s criteria for the approval of pitches and stadiums in the country for international games.
