Telecom giant MTN Ghana brought smiles to the faces of mothers who gave birth on Christmas Day in two health facilities in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
A team made a trip to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Maternal and Child Health Hospital (MCHH) where at least 50 deliveries were announced, to donate items to the mothers and their babies.
The annual event was to congratulate the mothers and the health facilities for safe delivery and share in their joy this festive season.
“Aside from the hampers, MTN Ghana is adding ₵100 worth of airtime because we know they will break the news to their loved ones and even share pictures with them”, said Charles Osei Akoto a Senior Technical Head of the Northern Business District of MTN Ghana.
Akoto used the occasion to praise subscribers of MTN adding that the company is committed to giving back to society.
A midwife in charge of the Labour Ward at the MCHH Evelyn Osei Sraha thanked MTN Ghana for the gesture. She reminded pregnant women to take antenatal periods seriously to prevent needless deaths through childbirth.
