Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Issah Atta, has strongly criticized the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, over recent remarks he made concerning certain flights at Kotoka International Airport. According to Atta, the comments were “reckless and unnecessary.”

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue on Saturday, April 5, the Sagnarigu MP dismissed Fordjour’s concerns, stating, “There was nothing about this. He just wasted everybody’s time.” He described the claims as unfounded and lacking substance.

Atta emphasized that international flights arrive in Ghana on a regular basis and suggested that such routine operations should not be turned into political controversies or used to create public panic. He said, “If you are performing your oversight responsibilities, it doesn’t mean you should add recklessness, causing fear, anxiety, and tarnishing the image of the government.”

He further labeled Rev. Fordjour’s actions as irresponsible, arguing that they do not contribute positively to national discourse. Atta insisted that oversight must be carried out with a sense of responsibility, without inciting fear or damaging the reputation of the state.
