Coach CK Akunnor has confirmed that his contract with Asante Kotoko has been terminated by the management of the club.
“Yes it’s true,” Akunnor is quoted in the media.
He added: “I am no more the coach of Kotoko. I have been asked to step aside but was asked in a meeting to take over as technical director.”
The coach who has two more years to run on his current contract led the Porcupines to win the Tier 1 of the Normalisation Committee Special Competition.
The club is yet to officially issue a statement about Akunnor’s departure but information reaching Dailymailgh.com can confirm that, Head coach of Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC, Kjetil Zachariassen has been contacted by Kotoko’s management to take over.
The Fabulous club won the tier one cup of NC Special Competition with Akunnor as head coach and will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions league next year.
