John Kumah’s wife seeks probe into Captain Smart’s allegations on late husband

Apostle Mrs Lilian Kumah, wife of the late Ejisu MP, is demanding answers from Captain Smart, a radio personality with Accra-based Onua TV.

The allegations stem from a video released on 21st February 2024, where Captain Smart asserted that John Kumah had fallen victim to severe food poisoning, insinuating broader conspiracies targeting other political figures.

Expressing deep concern over the potentially misleading and unfortunate nature of Captain Smart’s statements, Mrs Kumah has formally lodged a complaint with the Ghana Police Service.

In her statement, she conveyed the emotional toll these claims have taken on the Kumah family and called for a thorough investigation into the veracity of Captain Smart’s assertions.

“The pain of losing my husband is already unbearable, and baseless allegations only add to our distress”, she remarked.

The Deputy Finance Minister passed away on 7th March 2024 under circumstances that remain undisclosed to the public, heightening speculation and public interest in the matter.

Mrs. Kumah’s plea for an investigation is aimed at dispelling emerging conspiracy theories surrounding her husband’s death and discouraging the spread of unsubstantiated claims.

“We must seek the truth to honour John’s memory and prevent further harm to our family”, she urged.
