The pregnant woman who went missing for nearly a week in Takoradi has been found around Axim in the Western Region, local media reported Tuesday.

Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, was unable to speak when she was found but responded through written communication, family members say.

According to her brother-in-law, Josephine, who did not show any signs of pregnancy said she delivered on the day she went missing.

She also added that she was kidnapped by bandits.

Police in the Western Region are yet to provide full details about the latest discovery.

She is said to be receiving treatment at the Axim Government Hospital.

Josephine was declared missing on September 16, when she went for a dawn walk in Takoradi but did not return.

Her family reported the matter to the police for action. Josephine’s photo had been published online amid desperate appeal to find her.
