REGSEC tightens security at Ayuom
At least three murder cases have been reported in the Ashanti Region in what appears to be a new wave of crime targeting women.
In the latest incident, the Ashanti Regional Security Council has ordered intensified patrols at Ayuom and its surrounding communities.
Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah will not accept the increasing trends, but has assured of improved security in the region.
“We want everybody to go about his or her normal duties without fear. The crime rate as compared to previous years has reduced. It is unfortunate that the has happened”, Mensah, adding that, “I cannot say there is any serious trend”.
#JusticeForRuthEshun launched
A social media campaign has been intensified to mount pressure on the Ghana Police Service to being the perpetrators to book.
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association which Eshun is a member has also joined the campaign, describing the act as “inhumane”.
The Association earlier called on health workers at the Sewuah Health Center —where the deceased worked to commiserate with her colleagues.
