KATH CEO tests positive for coronavirus

The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has tested positive for coronavirus, a source with direct knowledge has said.

The illness of Dr. Oheneba-Owusu Danso has forced other top executives of the biggest referral center in the Ashanti Region, to self-quarantine, Dailymailgh.com has gathered.

Dr. Danso is said to be receiving treatment in one of the COVID-19 treatment units at the same hospital.

Authorities are yet to go public on the development as calls to the Public Affairs Unit of the hospital had gone unanswered as at press time.

In July, a health worker at KATH died after testing positive for COVID-19. The victim who was a radiographer was amongst some 254 staff who were diagnosed with the virus.

About 203 of the affected staff have so far recovered. Ghana has a total of 45, 012 cases with 283 fatalities.
