Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has secured the coveted number one position on the ballot as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for its presidential primary scheduled for November 4.

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia claimed the second position on the ballot paper, while Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh secured the third and fourth spots, respectively.

The ballot process for the NPP presidential primary was administered by the Electoral Commission (EC) in collaboration with the party’s election committee. Notably, this balloting event featured only four aspirants, following the withdrawal of the former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, from the flagbearer race.

In a statement released on Wednesday, September 13, the NPP announced that the presidential election committee of the party had conducted a productive interactive session with the four contestants in preparation for the presidential primaries slated for Saturday, November 4, 2023.

The statement further highlighted the successful collaboration between the election committee and officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana in conducting the ballot for the contestants.
