The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced the resumption of property rate collection, advising property owners to pay directly to the KMA Revenue Unit.
This decision follows the Minister of Finance’s revision, as stated in the 2024 budget, allowing local Assemblies to reclaim this responsibility from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
In a statement, the KMA cautioned property agents not to engage the GRA or its assigns while emphasizing direct payment to the Assembly’s revenue collectors.
The Assembly also encouraged the public to contribute to the development of the metropolis by fulfilling their obligations in property rates, fees, and licenses directly to its outfit.
