The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Joseph Kofi Adda on Monday made a donation of over 1,900 pieces of stationery to final year students sitting the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his constituency.
The donation is to support candidates and ease the burden on parents whose wards will be writing the week-long examinations.
Mr. Adda, who in a statement encouraged the candidates to work hard in the examination and advised them to desist from engaging in any form of examination malpractices, gave his donation to the candidates at the various examination centres through the Kasena –Nankana Municipal education directorate.
The MP in his statement stressed the need for candidates to respect the invigilators and warned them against seeking shortcuts to achieve success in the examination. He express hope in the constituency seeing an improvement in performances this year and gave the candidates words of hope and good will messages.
Maxwell Adapesah, the Municipal Human Resource Director at the education directorate received the items on behalf of the education unit and led the team to distribute the items.
He thanked the MP and encouraged the candidates not to relent in their studies for the examination.
In the Kasena – Nankana Municipal Assembly, a total of 1,924 candidates are expected to sit for this year’s week-long examination. Out of the total number of candidates, 924 are males and the rest of the 1,000 make up the females.
