Asante Kotoko drew goalless with Ashantigold in Kumasi on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
The Red and Whites dropped points at home to regional rivals Ashantigold in an entertaining stalemate.
Kotoko served their last of the three home games ban and failed to pick all points to go top after leaders Chelsea slipped at home to Inter Allies on Saturday.
The home team could’ve been one goal up in the early stages of the second if forward Opoku Mensah was sharp and decisive enough but wasted the one-on-one he had with the Ashantigold goalkeeper.
The Black and Yellows nearly grabbed the win in what would’ve been the last kick of the game when midfielder Appiah Mccarthy’s free kick hit the goal post to the relief of the home team.
There was no goal in the Ashanti derby at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium and both teams settled for a point despite serving a good game on the hot afternoon in the city of Kumasi.
They both move to 18 points after 10 games into the season.
