Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed why he sacked coach Maxwell Konadu in his first season at the club.
According to him, he sacked the Porcupine Warriors legend as the coach of the club because he’s a solution oriented person who always wants the best.
He said every Kotoko head coach should be having a 60% win percentage something the current Legon Cities FC coach failed to achieve.
He added that the former coach had a 42% win percentage at the club and merited a sack from the Reds as their head coach.
Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah on Asempa FM: “I sacked Maxwell Konadu because I’m a solution oriented person. I don’t want you to throw your hands in despair. At the time Maxwell was leaving, he had a win rate of 42% and that’s not Kotoko. We need about 60% win rate and above.”
Kotoko won the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season and will represent Ghana in the upcoming 2022-23 CAF Champions League campaign.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, a successor to Portuguese gaffer Mariano Barreto led the Porcupine Warriors to easily dispatch all the Ghana Premier League teams to win the 2021-22 league title.
