Ghana’s Asante Kotoko have been paired with FC Noaudhibou from Mauritania in the preliminary round of the 2020-21 CAF Champions League competition.

The Porcupine Warriors are Ghana’s sole representative for the CAF elite competition after the Ghana Premier League season truncated as a result of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The draw for the CAF Champions League competition was held today and the Kumasi-based club Asante Kotoko have been paired against FC Noaudhibou.

The winner of the first preliminary stage encounter will come up against the winner of the battle between Al Hilal of Sudan and SC Vipers from Sudan.

The Red and Whites have been in camp for almost five weeks preparing for the start of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season which starts next weekend when they face Techiman XI Wonders.

Knowing their CAF Champions League opponents, the Porcupines may have a clear cut idea about what is needed to be done to ensure they progress to the next phase of the season’s CAF Champions League competition.
