Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has lavished praise on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, characterizing him as a man of destiny uniquely qualified to lead Ghana toward a brighter future. Kufuor emphasized his strong belief in Dr. Bawumia’s potential to transform Ghana’s digital sector if he wins the 2024 presidential election.
In a video address during the NPP’s Manifesto Launch in Takoradi on Sunday, August 18, 2024, Kufuor passionately endorsed Dr. Bawumia, presenting him as the most suitable candidate for the 2024 general elections due to his deep expertise and exceptional leadership qualities.
“I believe in the man of the moment—the whole world is talking about digitalisation. Bawumia is cut for the occasion, custom-made. He studied politics, and he was born into politics, because of his loyalty to the tradition which is why the party gave him a chance to lead,” Kufuor stated.
He further elaborated on Dr. Bawumia’s qualifications, saying, “We are presenting a custom-made candidate to Ghana, a candidate that understands geopolitics and his policy will bring on board sound relationships and his call will be in the interest of the country. A candidate that will digitalise the economy and social policy. He’s a man of destiny and a very insightful, humble person.”
Kufuor expressed optimism that the party’s manifesto would resonate with the electorate, encouraging Ghanaians to place their confidence in Dr. Bawumia as the leader ready to tackle the nation’s challenges.
“The manifesto our candidate will present will be accepted by all Ghanaians, with the hope that he is the man of the moment,” he concluded.
