Firefighters battled another inferno at a mechanic shop close to the Kumasi office of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
The fire said to have started just before 11am on Tuesday, (September 20) was declared under control and extinguished moments later, officials say.
The fire affected six shops, three of them and their contents were completely burnt while three others were partially destroyed”, said an officer at the scene. “Three Ford buses, and one Opel salon car were also not spared”.
Affected victims were seen salvaging their wares in the debris. It comes just 48 hours after a mother and her two children were killed when an inferno gutted their nine-bedroom home Asuoyeboa in the Kwadaso Municipality.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says investigations have started in all cases.
