The District Chief Executive of Kwahu East, Isaac Agyapong, has said his district is one of the safest in Ghana in terms of security.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Agyapong said upon assumption of office in 2017, the Assembly together with the MP for the area, Bryan Acheampong donated a Nissan Navara pick-up to the Kwahu East District police command to protect lives and properties in a bid to heighten security.
“The donation we made was to support the police to curb crime rates in the district. Today we’re proud to say that this District if not the safest is one of the safest in Ghana,” the DCE stated.
Ten lives were lost to the conflict between Fulanis and members of the Kwahu community in the early days of 2017/2018.
However, Mr. Agyapong stated that a joint security force brought in by the MP, who doubles as a security minister, has drowned crime rate and resolved conflicts between Fulani herdsmen and people in the Kwahu community.
“We’re really proud of this,” he said.
