Organizers of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (the Kwahu Summit) have changed the summit date from 26 October, 2022 to 26 January, 2023.
The summit was expected to take place from Wednesday 26 through to Sunday 30 October 2022. By virtue of the change, it will now come-off from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 January 2023.
The change in date, according to a statement issued by the organizers today 5 October 2022, indicate that the change has became necessary “after further diplomatic consultations on the calendars of some key speakers and leaders on the African continent who are scheduled to participate in the maiden summit”.
Africa Prosperity Network (APN) and its Partners, including the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, the Africa Business Council and UNDP Africa, are the promoters of the summit.
The Africa Prosperity Dialogues is expected to “provide a dedicated platform for business and political leaders to think, plan and work together, with greater urgency, for the success of building the world’s largest single market of 1.3 billion people, by fast-tracking the implementation of the all-important Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement”.
The two-part Summit now postponed to January 2023, “will feature the Intra-Africa Trade Forum, a retreat for business executives and associations, senior public figures, thought leaders and technocrats, on 26th and 27th January, culminating in high level discussions between Heads of State and business leaders on Saturday, 28th January, 2023”.
“Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, is expected to be joined by many of his colleague heads of state, including Presidents of Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, Rwanda, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, DRC, Mozambique, and Angola” for the summit.
In the statement announcing the change in date, “the APN noted that together with her partners, they “extend warmest appreciation to all stakeholders who, in spite of the inconveniences caused, are willing to accommodate the changes in Summit dates”.
