The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, has described as false, news reports claiming he has settled on Prof Kwesi Botchwey, a former Finance Minister, as his running mate ahead of the 2020 polls.
State Media outlet, Graphic.com.gh, reported that Prof. Botchwey’s name came up for the appointment at a meeting held today [Monday].
The former President, however said the claims are untrue.
“Fake News. The Daily Graphic report of the selection of a running mate is false”, Mr Mahama said on Twitter Monday.

Who qualifies?
Several names have come up as potential running mates to partner the former President.
Former Foreign affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh, Hon Julius Debra, a former Chief of Staff, Korley Klottey MP, Zanetor Rawlings, have all been tipped for the portfolio.
The party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, was also penned down for the appointment.
