Liberty Professionals lost 2-3 to Inter Allies at home on Thursday.
The Scientific Soccer Lads suffered their second Accra Derby defeat at home grounds to a determined Eleven-is-to- One side.
Allies scored first in the opening minutes of the match when striker Samuel Armah followed his instinct in the box to break the deadlock with a fine header.
Victorien Adebayor made it two for the visitors few minutes later after he finished off a brilliant team play to make it 2-0 to the “best travelers” in the Ghana league.
George Ansong pulled one back for the host before the break to hand the home fans some sort of believe going into the interval.
Two minutes after the hour mark, Ansong drew Liberty Professionals level with a beautiful header after some nice exchanges at the right side of the host’s attack to make it 2-2.
Liberty after getting the leveller pushed up looking for the third goal but failed to create any clear cut opportunities.
Inter Allies lifted their game after conceding the second goal which canceled their early two goals lead, playing with high intensity in search of a third.
The away side’s pressure finally paid off when they were awarded a penalty in the 75th minutes only for their skipper, Adebayor’s kick to be saved by the home team’s goalkeeper to deny Allies from retaking the lead.
The away team continued to pile up the pressure on the home side and got their reward when Mohamed Zakari slotted home the third in the 90th minutes to silence the home team to put the visitors 3-2 up.
Liberty pushed forward for the last few minutes but could find the equalizer as the match ended 2-3 to Allies.
