Former President John Dramani Mahama has urged the government to swiftly address the unpaid arrears owed to trainee nurses nationwide. He emphasized the ongoing hardships these nurses face due to the delays in their payments, stressing the need for immediate action.
During a conversation with some of the trainee nurses on Saturday, Mahama stated, “Come and pay the nurses; you owe them almost 30 months of arrears.”
He further pointed out that “Some of them have left school without receiving their allowances, and some of them are going to leave school again without receiving their allowances.”
Reassuring the trainees, Mahama declared, “It is about jobs, and the NDC is committed to jobs, so we are going to create the situation where we can employ as many of you as possible.”
