John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to lead an industrialization effort in Accra, particularly focusing on Amasaman, if he is elected president in the upcoming December 7 general elections. This initiative, he explained, would be part of the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy, which is aimed at tackling the country’s unemployment problem.
As part of his campaign, Mahama visited various constituencies, including Amasaman, Domeabra-Obom, Trobu, and Anyaa-Sowutuom, to share the party’s main policy proposals. During his visit to Amasaman, Mahama outlined his plan to designate the Amasaman-Suhum corridor as an industrial zone. He encouraged investors to establish factories in this area, which would operate under the 24-hour economy policy.
“Everyone goes to Tema to put up a factory. We’ll arrange this place when we come into power. Whoever would want to put a factory would come and put it here. We’ll designate the Amasaman-Suhum stretch as an industrial zone, and they’ll operate under the 24-hour economy policy,” Mahama stated.
In addition to his industrialization plans, Mahama also reiterated his commitment to enhancing the Free Senior High School policy, promising to address the challenges associated with its implementation.
