Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has expressed profound gratitude and pride following the announcement of key appointments to the President-elect’s team.
A trusted ally of Mahama, Mogtari shared her confidence in the ability of the newly appointed officials to meet the high expectations of Ghanaians. Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV, she remarked, “I feel humbled and deeply grateful to God for this day. I believe this is the day the Lord has made. Expectations are very high, and I am confident that this team is capable of delivering on those expectations.”
Her comments followed the official unveiling of the President-elect’s team on January 7, 2025, during his inauguration.
The newly announced appointments include:
Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu as Acting Spokesperson to the President.
Dr. Callistus Mahama as Executive Secretary to the President.
Prosper Douglas Bani as Head of the Interim Security Taskforce.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr as Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs.
Augustus Goosie Tanoh as Presidential Advisor, focusing on the 24-hour economy and export development agenda.
Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew Appiah-Opong as Legal Counsel to the President.
Mogtari described the appointees as a group of highly skilled and experienced professionals, praising their selection as a strategic move to drive the administration’s vision for Ghana’s progress. “This is one of the greatest decisions ever. You can see Dr. Callistus Mahama, Prosper Bani, and the rest of the team. They are incredibly capable and will deliver on the people’s expectations,” she stated enthusiastically.
She commended the diversity of expertise represented by the team and expressed optimism that they would play crucial roles in achieving the government’s goals for economic development, effective governance, and national transformation.
