A former Director of Political Affairs at the Office of the Vice President Manaf Ibrahim has picked up forms to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in the Asawase constituency of the Ashanti Region.

Manaf is staging a comeback after he was barred from contesting the primaries in 2019. His supporters on Thursday marched to the Asawase NPP office to pick nomination forms on his behalf, making him the first aspirant to receive the document.

The Chairperson of the Manaf Fun Club Elizabeth Asare who led the charged crowd said Mr Ibrahim possesses the attributes required to drive genuine change in their constituency.

She stated that because of the aspiring candidate’s strong love and loyalty to the party and the residents of the constituency, they were able to mobilize GH₵ 3, 000 to pick the nomination forms.

“Manaf is a good person, he doesn’t care about your tribe or religious denomination, he supports everyone in need. The love Manaf has been showing us is just unimaginable,” she noted.

She urged delegates in the constituency to vote for Manaf in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primary in November.
