Officials of English Premiership champions Manchester City will be in Egypt during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to have a critical look at their player Thomas Agyepong.

The fleet-footed left-winger is owned by the Citizens but spent last season on loan at Scottish outfit Hibbernian where injuries seriously hampered his progress as he made only nine league appearances, scoring one goal.

Dailymailgh.com understands that Agyepong is in the plans of Pep Guardiola as a squad player for next season and scouts of the club will be in Egypt to watch him and report back to the Spanish coach.

The 22-year-old who has previously featured on loan at FC Twente and NAC Breda could be given to any of the newly-promoted EPL teams on temporary basis if Guardiola is not convinced.
