The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Alex Opoku Mensah has been handed a further two-month suspension following his misconduct at the Manhyia Government Hospital late last year.
The National Service Scheme has also reassigned Mr Opoku Mensah to its headquarters to work under supervision as it affirms the recommendations of a committee of inquiry tasked to investigate the matter.
This new directive is contained in a letter dated December 23, 2022, signed by Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, the Head of the National Service Scheme.
The politician who will have to stay home without pay has also been reassigned to the NSS Head Office in Accra to work under supervision. He has also been directed to issue an official apology to the National Service Scheme within seven days for bringing the institution’s name into disrepute.
The order takes immediate effect.
Mr Opoku Mensah aka OMENS was captured on tape verbally assaulting a nurse at the Manhyia Government Hospital. His action forced the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRMNA) to declare an indefinite strike in protest.
Dailymailgh.com is however learning that the Association has been meeting over this latest action against Mr Opoku Mensah and would soon go public.
