The vetting committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given the green light to all four aspirants vying for the party’s parliamentary primary in the Manhyia South Constituency.
This follows the filing of nominations on Tuesday (9 July). The governing party has scheduled the election of a Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency on Sunday (14 July) following the unanimous endorsement of sitting MP Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
An official at the Manhyia South NPP office, Richmond Abban, confirms the vetting committee conducted a ballot for the candidates.
Below are the contestants and their balloting positions:
- Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh
- Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah
- Akwasi Coker Gyambibi
- James Owusu Boakye
The Chairman of the election committee Danquah Smith Buttey promised transparent, free and fair elections.
