Mexico 2 – 0 Ghana – Fragile Black Stars succumb to El Tricolor
Ghana’s Black Stars produced another uninspring display at the international stage with a shambolic performance against Mexico.
The Black Stars succumbed to the El Tricolor in their first FIFA friendly match away in the United States of America.
Ghana had no shot on target in the opening 45 minutes of the match with the Mexicans proving a tough nut to crack for the west African country.
The opening 45 minutes produced few fire works with both teams not creating enough but the North America giant were the team with purpose upfront as it ended goalless at the break.
In the second half of the match Chris Hughton took off captain Thomas Partey and replaced him with French Ligue 1 outfit Racing Club de Lens midfielder Salis Abdul Samed.
Former Napoli attacker Hirving Lozano broke the deadlock of the match to put the Green and Whites in the lead on the 57th minute mark with a deflected shot.
Uriel Antuna pounced on a lackadaisical defending from the Ghanaians to slot the ball past indecisive goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi to make it 2-0 in the 72nd minute mark.
