Inspector Charles Adamu, the 50-year-old policeman, who went missing while visiting his plot of land at Asuboi near Suhum in the Eastern Region has died.
The officer left home on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, to the said site with a police service vehicle, but did not return home, his wife had told the police.
Investigators were immediately deployed to the site but had been unsuccessful in their search.
He was, however, found after police and town folks discovered a partially decomposed body of a male adult in a river a few meters away from his plot of land.
His body was pulled out of the water and conveyed to the morgue for preservation, Dailymailgh.com has learned.
Many of his colleagues, who got wind of the unfortunate incident, shared fond memories of the late officer on social media, describing him as a humble man.
The late officer was stationed at the Police Hospital as a service driver. The police are yet to comment on the cause of his untimely death.
