The Ministry of Health (MoH) has instructed the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to provide a comprehensive report on the investigation into the alleged abandonment of a patient in Gomoa Ojobi, Central Region, within 30 days.

Following the circulation of a video on Thursday, June 13, depicting a woman wrapped in sheets and reportedly abandoned in a bush, the GHS launched an investigation into the incident.

Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the Health Minister, issued a directive to the GHS on Friday, June 14, stressing the importance of concluding the investigation promptly. He stated, “It is the position of the Ministry that this process is concluded within a maximum of 30 days from the date of constitution of the committee and a report submitted to my office.”

The incident has garnered significant attention on social media, with allegations that the woman was left behind by an ambulance from the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.

The GHS remains committed to conducting a thorough inquiry to address the concerns raised and ensure accountability in patient care.
