Spanish La Liga team Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams says Dutch Eredivisie giant AFC Ajax Amsterdam star player Kudus Mohammed is on the verge of playing for a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona soon.
The Black Stars forward believes the Ghana star is going to be signed by a very big club due to his explosive performance in the UEFA Champions League competition and in the Netherlands top-flight.
Kudus has scored nine goals in all competitions this season for Ajax, four in the UEFA Champions League competition and five in the Dutch Eredivisie.
“I already had him signed before coming, because I had heard about him and had seen his goals. When I played the last national team break with him, he already surprised me a lot,” said Williams on La Pizarra de Quintana.
“To my colleagues, when they asked me if someone had impressed me, I always talked about him. I think Ajax is starting to get too small for him and hopefully he will make the leap to a big one soon.”
“I would have liked him to have had a Basque family member to be able to bring him to Bilbao because he is a bomb, he is a machine. He is very complete and with his young age he still has a lot of room for improvement,” he added.
Williams was emphatic when asked if he sees Kudus at Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.
“Yes,” he answered. “I see him playing in a great club. It has plenty of potential and a great margin for improvement, its ceiling has not yet been seen at all. I think she may be one of the short-term revelations,” he added.
A 2-0 win for Uruguay in their Group H decider with Ghana prevented the Black Stars from enacting any sort of revenge for their quarter-final loss at the 2010 World Cup, but this pulsating victory for La Celeste at the 2022 edition came with a heavy price.
South Korea’s 2-1 win over Portugal in the corresponding group stage decider saw them leapfrog both Uruguay and Ghana late on, meaning they’ll progress to the last 16, and send both of these sides home despite Uruguay’s victory.
The build-up to the match had been dominated by Luis Suarez’s handball right at the end of extra-time in their 2010 knockout match. Asamoah Gyan’s miss proved fatal for Ghana 12 years ago, but captain Andre Ayew, the only remaining player from the 2010 squad, couldn’t avenge.
He scored two goals in three games at the World Cup in Qatar for Ghana’s Black Stars and provided one assist as he was the only Ghana player to win Man-Of-The-Match award in Qatar.
