Ghana’s Black Stars Rock-Solid Center-back Alexander Djiku says he joined Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce SK because he wants to have a feel of the UEFA Champions League.

The Ghana International thinks his chances of making his dream a reality is very high after signing for the Blue and Yellow outfits.

He has scored for the club already this season after just 10 games in all competitions as they remain unbeaten and top of the league table after eight games with 24 points.

“Fenerbahçe has not been a champion for a long time. This was a strong competitive element for me.”

“It is also very nice to live here, Turkey is a very beautiful city. I also wanted to play in European cups. My dream is to play in the Champions League,” he stated.

“I had the opportunity to talk to Appiah before coming to Fenerbahçe. He gave me advice,” Djiku told Tivibu Spor.

He was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar with Ghana and joined the club from French Ligue 1 side Racing Club de Strasbourg.
