Black Stars new striker, Ransford Yeboah says his father will be proud to see him don the Ghana jersey and play for the four-time Africa Cup of Nations Champions.
He stated that his Ghanaian father would not be able to hide his joy when he steps onto the field to play for Ghana’s Black Stars team.
However, Yeboah also believes choosing Ghana over Germany is the best way to go about his national team career.
According to him it is probably easier to become a national team player here in Ghana than in the four-time World champions, Germany.
“My father comes from Ghana, he would be very proud of me if I could now play for his fatherland. In addition, it is probably easier to become a national team player there,” he told the Bild.
The 20-year-old forward is having a good season at Hamburg, scoring two goals in the DFB Pokal victory over Bayreuth.
The young and enterprising forward also revealed that coach Otto Addo has always been in contact with him since last December before he was even appointed head coach for the Black Stars team.
He’s expected to be called in the next international break in September as Ghana takes on Switzerland in an international friendly game as part of preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.
