Nantes coach Vahid Halihodzic has shown little interest in Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris despite their owner Waldemar Kita’s wish to have him on permanent deal.
Kita stressed that though the board is keen on Waris and has started initial talks with Porto and his representatives, the coach is not in favour of the move.
“We negotiated a little bit for Waris,” Kita told Butfootball.
“We asked our coach Vahid for advice in his capacity as the manager of the side. He told us we should not go further in the negotiations. There comes a time when it was no longer possible,” he stressed.
Dailymailgh.com understands that FC Porto have put a six million Euros transfer fee on Waris whose contract at the Estadio Dragao expires on June 30, 2022.
He netted five goals and provided three assists for Nantes FC in the French Ligue 1 last season on loan.
