Schoolchildren and education authorities in the Manhyia South Constituency of the Ashanti Region offered their sincere prayers for their Member of Parliament, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, on the occasion of his fifty-sixth birthday on Thursday (23 May).

The touching moment unfolded as executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), friends and associates embarked on a noble mission to spread joy and celebrate the esteemed lawmaker, who also serves as Ghana’s Energy Minister.

Visiting over 15 schools within the constituency, the NPP delegation made generous donations to mark the special day of their beloved MP. The donations included exercise books, along with an assortment of confectionaries and other essential stationery items.

The brief ceremony held at each school was filled with gratitude and blessings from the young beneficiaries, who expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Napo’s dedicated service and commitment to their welfare.

“And we say that may the good Lord lead him to greater heights”, one of the pupils prayed. “May all his aspirations come true as he celebrates this day. We also wish him well in all his endeavours”.

Deputy CEO of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Nana Ama Tima Boakye, led the delegation to present the items to the students.

“Today is the 56th anniversary of his birth and people who have love for him came together to celebrate with children in the constituency. And so, we brought some books, pens and pencils among others and we’ve cut about seven cakes now as we celebrate with him. He started his education in the constituency as well and so it is just for every school going kid to have a taste of the celebration and also be encouraged to rise to the height that he has attained”, Boakye said.
