An aspirant contesting the sitting NDC Member of Parliament for Asawasi, Muntaka Mubarak was left disappointed after he, together with his supporters was locked out at the party’s office Thursday.

Masawudu Mubarick, was at the NDC regional office to file his nomination forms ahead of the parliamentary primaries.

Our Ashanti Regional Correspondent reported that security was on high alert as supporters of Mr Mubarick thronged the party office to support him.

At the time of filing this report, the party regional office had remained closed amidst growing concerns there are plans by top party executives in the region to disallow Mr Mubarick to contest the elections.

The development also left party bigwigs including Alhassan Tapsoba, a security committee member stranded at the party office as party activities appear grounded.

Some disappointed delegates who spoke to Dailymailgh.com expressed disappointment over the development.

“I doubt if the party is ready for power. This is not the attributes of a democratic party. These are attempts to frustrate the process but that will not wash,” a visibly unhappy supporter said.

“We are sleeping here until our aspirant files…we are not saying Muntaka has done nothing. All that we are calling for is change,” another said.
