NDC Vice Presidential Candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has pledged that an NDC government will prioritize the construction and reconstruction of markets to support Ghanaian traders, especially women.

She emphasized the importance of enhancing trading facilities as many women in Ghana rely on market activities for their livelihoods. This commitment ties into the NDC’s broader agenda to establish a Women’s Development Bank, which aims to empower women economically.

During her three-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, October 29, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured traders that the NDC would focus on their needs, advocating for economic growth through policies that elevate women in business. Speaking to a crowd in Asankare in the Asante Akim South Constituency, she highlighted the party’s dedication to development projects and its intent to drive economic progress by supporting local markets.

“We vote for development projects, and if progress isn’t being made, it’s time to consider a change,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated. “We should support a party that prioritizes development—this is why voting for the NDC is the right choice.”

She added, “The NDC is the only party that builds markets, and the Kejetia Market is a testament to that. So vote for the NDC.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang continued her tour in Drobonso, Sekyere Afram Plains, as well as in the Juaben and Ejisu constituencies, presenting the NDC’s policies and encouraging voters to support the party in the upcoming December elections.

Nana Bediatuo Ofori Amanfo I, the Kyidomhene of Asankare, commended Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for maintaining a respectful and insult-free campaign, setting what he described as a “commendable example” in political conduct.
