The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed GH¢ 587,236 to six health facilities across Ghana, according to a statement from the authority.
This funding aims to provide free dialysis sessions for kidney patients under 18 and above 60 years, following the government’s initiative to absorb these treatment costs.
Beneficiary hospitals include Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
NHIA confirmed that the funds will be managed by these hospitals to reimburse patients who paid out-of-pocket in June.
