Northern Region: Tension rises in Banvim after two children found murdered

In Banvim, a community within the Kakpagyili electoral area of the Northern Region, tension is high following the alleged murder of two children.

The children, Arafat and Ayaa, disappeared on Saturday, June 22, 2024, after telling their parents they were going to visit a neighbor. They never came back.

Citi News reports that community members searched the neighbor’s house but found nothing, which caused further agitation among the residents.

Alhaji Hafiz Andani, the assembly member for the Kakpagyili electoral area, stated that police investigations on Sunday discovered the bodies in an abandoned car parked behind the suspect’s house.

The bodies have been taken to the morgue at Tamale Teaching Hospital.
