A former Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has picked nomination forms to contest as a New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the Wenchi Constituency.
Some electoral area coordinators in the constituency on January 30, picked the forms for Nana Yaw Opoku Atuahene —who seeks to replace sitting MP, Prof George Gyan Baffour.
Amidst singing and drumming the NPP delegates, who were clad in their party shirts, thronged the Wenchi Constituency office to purchase the forms for the aspirant.
Speaking to reporters after picking the forms, leader of the group, Augustine Tabiri said the decision to fund the purchase of the forms was based on his competence, hard work and selflessness.
“It is evident. When he was appointed MD for ADB during the Kufuor administration and he has contributed his quota for development of Wenchi. He has the party at heart and has served the party in diverse ways. He knows the problems facing this constituency and that is why we endorsed his candidature”, said Augustine, who doubles as an Electoral Area Coordinator for Kaamu/Gensoso.
He called on the party supporters in the constituency to be steadfast and rally behind Nana Yaw Opoku Atuahene ahead of the primaries.
