Francis Owusu-Akyaw, an aspirant in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries, says he has his vision to elevate the Juaben Constituency to the next level if elected.
The NPP primaries are scheduled for January 27, 2024, and Owusu-Akyaw is positioning himself as the candidate with a strategic vision for the progress of Juaben.
Speaking on Wontumi Radio/TV’s ‘Nsempa Fie’ on Saturday (13 January), the Minerals Consultant said having served in various capacities to improve the lives of the constituents, he is in the race to implement his vision and take Juaben to the next level.
“I am contesting this race because the people of Juaben need a candidate who will bring development closer to them and I believe my candidacy is also a first step to retain the seat for the NPP”, he told the host Nana Konadu Abu-Prah.
He then shared a summary of his vision for Juaben and promised to share an elaborate one with delegates, an indication of his confidence in being elected flagbearer by the NPP.
“I want to see a Juaben where the people will leverage sports to unearth more talents. And we will prioritise sports infrastructure to make it happen. It is important to note that I have single-handedly completed an abandoned astroturf project in the constituency, and I have pledged to complete such projects before the 2024 polls”.
“I will also establish an ‘MP’s clinic’ to connect with the people. This initiative will be good self engaging with the constituents quarterly to know their concerns and proffer solutions to them. Again, I intend to embark on routine visits to the various electoral areas in the constituency to account to the people”.
“Together, I want to establish a welfare fund to empower our delegates. I am willing to make a significant contribution to ensure they are well-resourced in diverse ways, and this is something I am committed to implementing when I am elected as MP”.
“Tourism is something we will leverage on to improve the economy of Juaben. Our two main natural resources, the Bomfobiri Forest and the Waterfall at Esaase will rake in more revenue for the Municipal Assembly and I have started engaging stakeholders, including those in government and private investors to develop these areas to improve eco-tourism”.
“This is not an exhaustive list and I intend to engage delegates to lay out my vision to them”, Owusu-Akyaw who is tipped to win the January 27 elections stated.
