Andy Appiah Kubi, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North and a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reconciled with Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, the party’s running mate for the 2024 elections.
This comes after Appiah Kubi initially opposed NAPO’s selection, preferring a candidate more grassroots-connected.
NAPO’s confirmation as running mate was announced by the National Council and unveiled in Kumasi on July 9. On July 16, Appiah Kubi visited NAPO in his office, setting aside their previous differences.
During their meeting, both NAPO and Appiah Kubi pledged to work together to ensure the NPP’s success in the upcoming elections.
Their reconciliation signals a unified front within the party, emphasized by NPP’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), who expressed satisfaction with the renewed camaraderie, stating that the NPP is now united and determined to “break the eight.”
“The brotherhood is rekindled,” Nana B shared in a Facebook post alongside a photo of NAPO and Appiah Kubi.
