There are growing calls on the Akufo-Addo administration to sack the Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme Alex Opoku Mensah over an alleged verbal abuse on a nurse at the Manhyia District Hospital in Kumasi.
In the alleged heated exchange captured on tape, Mr. Opoku Mensah was heard using unprintable words on the health worker, when he waded into a misunderstanding that ensued between the nurse and a doctor identified as his daughter.
The development has generated widespread agitation among staff of the Manhyia District Hospital, a source at the health facility tells dailymailgh.com.
Reacting to the development the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) called on their members to remain has given the government a 72-hour ultimatum, for Mr. Opoku Mensah to be sacked as they threaten embark on a strike.
