Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has made a significant move in the summer transfer window, joining Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo Calcio. The 21-year-old talent transferred from Cagliari, a fellow Serie A club, ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Sulemana has earned recognition as one of the standout young players in the Italian league since his arrival in 2021. He has previously played for Hellas Verona and Cagliari, making a substantial impact at both clubs. His crucial goal for Hellas Verona in the 2022 playoff against Spezia was instrumental in securing their survival in the Serie A. Furthermore, his consistent performances under Claudio Ranieri at Cagliari played a pivotal role in their successful battle against relegation last season.

These impressive displays have not gone unnoticed, attracting the attention of several major European clubs. Atalanta acted swiftly to secure Sulemana’s signature, strengthening their squad for the upcoming challenges.

Sulemana will join his new teammates for pre-season training as Atalanta prepares for a demanding campaign. The season will kick off with a Super Cup clash against Real Madrid. Additionally, Atalanta will compete in the UEFA Champions League, having secured their spot by winning the Europa League last season.
