Kumasi Asante Kotoko are not allowed to sign a new player for the club, Dailymailgh.com can reveal.

According to the Chief of Staff of Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu, his royal majestic Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu has directed the new Board of Directors of the club not to sign a new player in the next one year.

Speaking at the launch of the new Board of Directors of the giant Ghanaian club, Mr. Badu revealed that Kotoko has been ordered to not go to the market for a new player for the first team.

“Kotoko management are not allowed to sign a new player for the first team for one year and that is an order by the club patron”, Badu reveled.

He further stated that the new yet to formed Kotoko management would have to concentrate on the youth team of the club instead of spending big on the transfer market.

“Our new management would be tasked to look at the youth team and develop it to reach the elite standards instead of buying from other teams”, he added.

Kotoko have inaugurated their new board to its supporters on Tuesday, June 9 in Kumasi.
