Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom and founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has announced an unusual approach to prevent election rigging, involving a public ceremony with libation and curses.

In an interview on Adom TV’s The Big Agenda with Nana Ampofo Adjei, the Ghanaian priest and politician shared his plan to hold a press conference on December 1 at 2 PM. During the event, he intends to pour libation and invoke 99 curses aimed at deterring anyone who might attempt to manipulate the results of the upcoming December 7 elections.

“The aim is to pour a libation and curse those who will try to rig the elections,” Kyiri Abosom explained, noting that the ritual would be lengthy and thorough, focusing on 99 distinct curses.

Kyiri Abosom expressed his determination to ensure a fair election outcome, highlighting past concerns about alleged electoral manipulation. By performing this ritual, he hopes to leverage traditional spiritual practices as a deterrent against any potential rigging.

Additionally, he addressed the possibility of a runoff between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In such a scenario, he stated he would expect financial compensation from either party for expenses he has incurred since launching his campaign in 2020, before considering any alignment with one of the major parties.
